Living: Star Gazing

Last night was the peak of the Camelopardalid meteor shower, so we all stayed up late and headed out to a nice quiet spot on Sunset Beach to see if we could spot some shooting stars. Our very organised friends packed a picnic and blankets and we set up camp on the shore where we all lay, chatting and watching the stars.

In the couple of hours that we were there, we had a couple of real sightings and hundreds of stars that turned out to be planes. In the early hours of the morning, it was expected that there would be between 100 and 1000 sightings per hour, which would have been incredible to see, but none of us fancied the wait! For me, laying on the beach in the dark with good company was absolute bliss. Had Rafferty not been ordering me to clean his feet every time felt the sand, it would have been perfect.
